The PTV 1000 is the right starting point for men trying a manual Pos-T-Vac for the first time or managing cost. The Manual 3000's 5-year warranty, twist-lock cylinder, and premium Mach rings make it the stronger long-term investment. Questions? 866-218-0902.

      The Spring-Loaded IVP-600 Pump Mechanism

The IVP-600 pump head uses a spring-loaded press-down design — the same fundamental mechanism as the Manual 3000's MOS head. Press down to create suction; the internal spring returns the pump head to its starting position automatically between strokes. The user's hand controls the pace: pump slowly for a gradual pressure increase, pump more quickly for faster vacuum creation. This direct control over suction rate is the defining characteristic of spring-loaded manual VED therapy — and what distinguishes it from squeeze-bulb manual pumps where grip pressure rather than stroke pace controls suction speed.

      Dual Safety Valve System

The IVP-600 pump head includes two independent safety valves:

      • Internal auto-release valve — activates automatically if vacuum exceeds 15.5 PSI, preventing excessive negative pressure regardless of pump speed; no user action required
      • External red-button release — user-activated manual pressure release at any point during therapy; press the red button to immediately reduce vacuum to a comfortable level or to release the cylinder

Both valves are required by FDA regulations for medical-grade vacuum erection devices. The 15.5 PSI internal limit is calibrated to the safe range for penile vacuum therapy — high enough for effective erection creation, low enough to prevent tissue damage from excessive vacuum.

      Formerly Prescription-Only — Now OTC

The Erec-Tech 1000 / IVP-600 system was previously sold only with a physician's prescription as a medical device. It is now available over the counter with no prescription required, making effective Pos-T-Vac vacuum therapy accessible without a doctor's visit or insurance involvement for the first time.

      FAQs

Should I choose the PTV 1000 or the Manual 3000?

The PTV 1000 is the right choice if you are trying a manual Pos-T-Vac for the first time and want to start at an accessible price, or if 1-year warranty coverage is sufficient for your needs. The Manual 3000 is the right choice for a long-term investment — 5-year warranty, premium Mach rings, and the patented twist-lock cylinder seal that reduces vacuum loss during pumping. If you plan to use VED therapy daily for an extended rehabilitation protocol, the Manual 3000's 5-year warranty is a meaningful advantage. Questions? 866-218-0902.

What is the difference between the IVP-600 and the BOS-2000-2?

The IVP-600 is a manual spring-loaded pump — no batteries, full user suction control. The BOS-2000-2 is a 2-cell push-button automatic pump — battery-powered, motor-driven suction. Both use the same Pos-T-Vac cylinder system. The Pos-T-Vac Combo System includes both heads for men who want to try both modes before committing to one.

Does this system use a twist-lock or slip cylinder connection?

Slip connection — the IVP-600 pump head pushes straight into the cylinder without rotating. The twist-lock cylinder (used by the Manual 3000, Automatic 2000, and Automatic 3000) provides a more secure seal but is not included with this system. Replacement pump heads and slip cylinders for this system are available separately.

Is this appropriate for post-prostatectomy rehabilitation?

Yes — appropriate for daily penile rehabilitation following prostatectomy. Consult your urologist for specific protocol guidance. For long-term daily rehab use, the Manual 3000's 5-year warranty may be worth the additional investment.

      Do I need a prescription?

No — the PTV 1000 / IVP-600 is available over the counter. Formerly required a prescription; now available OTC. Consult your physician before use if you have cardiovascular conditions, bleeding disorders, or take anticoagulant medications.
